Model Cellar Productions German WWI Tankers Review

Posted by

As you know Last Cavalry has an enduring interest in World War I. Recently Model Cellar Productions fulfilled a void by issuing a series of German tankers. These figures are perfect companions to the recent Meng A7V release or depicting a captured British Mark IV from either Takom or Meng. All figures and tanks are 1/35 scale and available from lastcavalry.com. The figures are all cast in resin.

The first figure MC35120 WWI German Tank Troops #1 is standing in a casual pose wearing the M1915 pattern tunic with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a cigarette. The figure includes two heads, one with a helmet, and the other with a feldmutze. The arms are separate, along with a gas mask case and pistol holster. The casting and sculpt are excellent.

The second tanker, MDC35121 WWI German Officer, is another great sculpt. The officer is wearing the 1910 Officer Pattern tunic and leather gaiters. His arms are separate, along with a great looking head. To me, the best piece is an impossibly detailed set of binoculars. There is also a holster and swagger stick included. Another great figure from Model Cellar productions.

Next up is MDC35122 WWI German Tanker In Greatcoat. This figure is standing in another casual pose scratching his head probably wondering why he is getting in these iron machines. He is wearing the M1915 pattern tunic along with the standard late pattern issue greatcoat. Two heads are included again with this figure; the stalhelm and the feldmutze. A different pose and interesting addition

The last figure in this group from Model Cellar Productions is MDC35123 German Tanker in Coveralls. This is another great figure. This guy is casually posed smoking a cigarette wearing the heavy feld gray cloth or rubberized cloth coveralls, and boiled black leather crash helmet. An interesting feature on this figure is the protective leather and chain mail mask setting on his chest. This mask was worn to protect the tanker from any flying debris inside the tank if they were hit. A definite must have! This figure is a favorite of Dave's from Last Cavalry.

Each of these figures are available from lastcavalry.com. The retail for each figure is $18.50.
