Product Description

FeR Miniatures

The Washington Artillery of New Orleans battalion was created on 1838 and first served in combat during the Mexican War. During the Civil War, it was organized in five companies, four of them belonged to the Army of Northen Virginia (ANV) commanded by General Lee and the fifth on the Tennessee Army at the orders of General Bouregard.

This battalion has one of the longest service records of the conflict; diverse elements of it participated in more than sixty major combats, including most of the main battles.

The artillery arm color was red, according to the Confederate uniform regulations. The grey shade of the uniform is the one called “Richmond Gray”. The brass buttons were engraved with the letter “A” in Roman font. On the uniform’s neck was sewn the rank patch, in red. In our subject, over that patch is a band in gold thread that marks the 2nd lieutenant rank. The kepi has the lower side in black and the upper part in red, with a thin golden stripe to show the rank. For the coat, we have chosen the “Butternut” tone, but it can also be grey.
