Product Description

FeR Miniatures - Royal Welch Fusiliers, Bunker Hill, 1775

75mm resin figure.

9 parts.

Figure requires assembly and painting.

WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BUYING THIS FIGURE:

– You can’t have enough redcoats.
– Can be transformed with very little effort in a grenadier from many British regiments of the period.

– The signature resin quality of the figure allows it to be clean and ready in almost no time, so free time is invested in what really matters: painting and having fun.

The Royal Welch Fusiliers were raised in Northern Wales by Henry Herbert, Baron of Chirbury, in 1689. Their initial purpose was to fight in a relatively local conflict in Ireland, the Williamite War, but soon they were deployed in the Nine Years War and the War of the Spanish Succession.

They were sent to the American colonies in 1773. They fought very fiercely at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775 and, after that, they participated in all the campaigns of the American Revolutionary War until the very surrender of the British troops in Yorktown, where they were the only regiment that didn’t surrender their colors to the Continentals.

The uniform of this unit had the particular distinction that all companies used the typical miter caps that normally were reserved for the grenadiers.
