FeR Miniatures: Magna Historica - Private, 8th Regiment of Foot Les Cèdres, 1776

1/12th scale resin bust

Bust requires assembly and painting.

WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER BUYING THIS BUST:

– A quintessential portrait of a British redcoat in the American Revolution by Ramón Martínez!
– This bust offers a variety of textures to explore and perfectly captures the air of the period.
–The resin quality allows the figure to get clean and ready in almost no time, so free time may be invested in what really matters: painting and having fun.

In 1775, the Continental Army brought the fight back to the Canadian colonies. That move caught the British defenders a bit by surprise, as they had very few forces ready to defend the extensive and geographically difficult area that constitutes the frontier between both territories, so they relied upon some trustworthy detachments of British troops, supported by a large number of Indians and some militia.

That factor led to the American invasion of large portions of Canadian territory, including the British province of Quebec. Montreal was captured without a fight on November 13th, 1775.

But the British were quick to reorganize and, aided by a large contingent of Iroquois troops prepared themselves to retake the area. Continental Brigadier General Benedict Arnold, commander of the Montreal garrison, sent a contingent of troops to Les Cèdres to confront any potential British advance to the west of Montreal, but the move proved insufficient, as Montreal returned to British hands on May 19th, 1776.

Our bust represents a private from one of the British units detached in the area, the 8th (The King’s) Regiment of Foot.
