Created during the First World War on November 11, 1915 by the merger of the 4 Marching Regiments of the Foreign Legion, the RMLE is a glorious regiment made up of volunteer men of different nationalities. Terrible battles will all take place in terrible conditions whether in Argonne, Artois, La Crête de Vimy or during the Offensives in the Monts de Champagne in 1915 as well as during the battles of La Somme. Other fights will take place until the Armistice of November 11, 1918 against a formidable and determined adversary.
